NURSING SUPERVISOR (RN)

Senior Resource Connection is seeking an experienced RN Nursing Supervisor for a full-time position in our Visiting Home Care department.  Includes full benefits package starting with 3 weeks' vacation!

NO NIGHTS! NO WEEKENDS! NO HOLIDAYS! NO ON-CALL!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

This position is responsible for providing the nursing care to patients based on established policies and procedures. She/he is responsible for nursing assessments, patient record maintenance and review, consultation and educational activities, and immediate supervision and direction for Home Health Aides at the client’s home. Work is reviewed through review, observation, and consultation to ensure good nursing judgment and quality of work.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Perform patient care, assessment, instruction and education.

2. Interviews client and/or family member(s) to obtain medical history and other pertinent data.

3. Conducts group and/or individual instruction on various health care topics as assigned.

4. Initiate contact and follows up on referrals and records appropriate information.

5. Performs other duties as required for the successful operation of the department and the agency.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE OF: Common physical and communicable diseases and medical terminology; of human relationships between patients, families and caregivers; of the principles, practices, and objectives of home health nursing; of the objectives, utilization and availability of community resources; of local, state and federal public health laws/regulation relevant to home care nursing; of appropriate SRC/VHC services and policies.

ABILITY TO: To observe patient changes and take appropriate action; to organize and plan time effectively; to understand and recognize socio-economic behavior patterns; establish, maintain and follow a plan of care, or appropriate patient record; to communicate effectively with physicians, client/families and community professionals; work with a variety of ethnic, socio-economic and age groups; to provide immediate direction and supervision to non-professional staff when needed and maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees; perform the required lifting and moving activities.

SKILL IN: Working effectively with non-professional staff and other staff and to supervise effectively and communicate with all levels of staff. Operation of a motor vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of degree or course of study for current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Ohio. Possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License and clear driving record and passing of Criminal Background and state abuse registries.

Experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home care or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the necessary skills.
