Our full-time positions work 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday. They get paid for *sick, *vacation, holiday and (1) one personal day per year. This totals to 39 paid days off per year.
(1) Full-time OUTREACH ASSESSOR are needed in our Meals on Wheels department. Accountable for performing telephone and in-home assessments and providing direct service to eligible clients in the service area, with strict confidentiality. Person must know how to use Word and Excel and some Access.
Pay is $14.30/hour. This is a full-time position and work hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. We work 37.5 hours a week, so 7.5 hours a day. BENEFITS: Dental, Medical, Vision, 401K and Life Insurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Provides assessment/reassessment services to eligible customers.
a. Conducts telephone intake interviews.
b. Performs home assessments of customers for Meal on Wheels service.
c. Coordinates referrals to appropriate agencies.
d. Expresses patience, care and respect to customers.
2. Maintains records and reports.
a. Completes all assessment and reassessment documentation accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner.
b. Furnishes daily activity logs and meets established assessment/ reassessment quotas as required.
c. Monitors customers on extended hold to evaluate future need.
d. Performs periodic records’ review as assigned.
3. Performs various activities relating to the development of the program.
a. Assists in contacting customers who do not receive meals as needed.
b. Participates in staff meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions.
c. Answer telephone and assists callers appropriately
4. Performs other related duties as required by the Supervisor including meal delivery if necessary.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF: Social work practices, procedures and terminology; assessment procedure; counseling techniques; gerontology; community resources for older adults.
ABILITY TO: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, social service agencies, and the general public; organize and maintain accurate records and reports; develop and maintain client service plans; communicate effectively both in oral and written form.
SKILLS: Interpersonal communications with older adults and their caregivers. Microsoft Word, Access and Excel.

If your looking to get out of the house and make a little money, Senior Resource Connection is looking for a Congregate Site Operator. Position is M-F and work hours vary between 7:00am - 1:00pm. $12.10/hour
Responsibilities include driving to congregate sites or restaurants that are hosting the congregate lunches and supervising personnel or volunteers, coordinate operations to ensure food is delivered from SRC's kitchen, distributing vouchers, setting up tables and ensuring food stays hot or cold. Responsible for clean-up/sanitation of areas prior to serving and after. Will also prepare daily paperwork for nutrition.
Site Operators are accountable for the overall coordination and operation of the congregate dining site in order to provide nutritious meals to members and participants of the center. Part-time Monday-Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Supervises the personnel, including volunteers, assigned to the work site.
a. Plans and assigns work priorities for assigned staff.
b. Provides orientation and training to new employees and volunteers.
c. Assists in recruiting volunteers to assist with kitchen operations.
2. Coordinates kitchen operations to ensure efficient food service delivery.
a. Assures that all appliances are turned on and ready for use.
b. Orders food supplies necessary to ensure efficient operations of site.
c. Maintains the serving temperature of prepared food to ensure that the hot food stays hot, and the cold food stays cold.
e. Assists with the set-up of site facilities, including tables.
f. Coordinates clean-up of work site at the end of each day.
g. Assures that all food service is performed according to accepted standards of sanitation and safety.
h. Responsible for cleanup and sanitation of serving areas prior to meal service and after meals have been served.
3. Prepares daily paperwork for nutrition site.
a. Maintains time cards of paid staff and volunteers as required.
b. Maintains paperwork on all supplies ordered and received.
I. If required, make daily bank deposits.
c. Records amount of money collected at work site on daily basis.
d. Prepares special reports pertaining to work site demographics when necessary.
e. Ensures that registration forms are completed and sent to Nutrition Office.
4. Serves as substitute at other sites, as needed and as directed by supervisor.
5. Attend monthly Site Operator meetings.
6. Performs other related duties as required for the effective operation of the nutrition site.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF: Food service operations, procedures and equipment; sanitation and safety standards; supervisory techniques.
ABILITY TO: Develop effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and senior citizens; organize and maintain accurate records; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; coordinate food service operations, including planning work priorities of subordinates.
SKILL IN: Planning, organizing decorating environment for a pleasing dining experience.

This position is accountable for assisting the Meals on Wheels Records Coordinator in tabulating and maintaining accurate records for the Meals on Wheels Division of the Nutrition Services Department with strict client confidentiality. Position Pay is $12.30/hour. This is a Full-Time position and work hours are Monday-Friday 8:am - 4:30pm. We work 37.5 hours a week, so 7.5 hours a day. 1. Helps to maintain accurate records to document the activities of the Meals on Wheels division.
a. Completes new client intake procedures.
b. Prepares route sheets for use by drivers on a weekly basis.
c. Maintains accurate Meal on Wheels filing system.
d. Assists in reviewing, on a daily basis, the completed Meals on Wheels route sheets and attempts to contact customers who did not receive their meal.
2. Provides additional clerical support to the staff of the Meals on Wheels division of the Nutrition Services Department as needed.
a. Answer telephone and assist callers appropriately.
b. Reproduces documents, reports and forms as needed.
c. Prepares reports, correspondence and other documents using word processing software, as required by supervisor.
3. Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor including delivery of meals if needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF: Office practices and procedures; automated office equipment and computer software systems; general filing procedures; and writing styles.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a standard high-school course of study or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year of clerical experience. Previous experience in a service oriented business environment preferred.
Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and appropriate auto insurance. Must pass a criminal background check.

Food Service Worker
This position is accountable for providing necessary assistance to food service and preparation personnel as assigned on a daily basis. Persons fulfilling this position must be flexible and willing to perform a variety of different duties from day-to-day. This is a part-time Monday - Friday position. Hours are 6:00am - 1:00pm. Pay is $13.00/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Assists food service personnel with various aspects of food preparation.
a. Prepare main entrees as assigned.
b. Prepare cold food and side dishes, including vegetables, fruits, salads, sandwiches and baked goods.
c. Prepares dietary foods for therapeutic diets when necessary.
d. Packs cold foods and supplies into carryout containers.
e. Assists with the packing of hot foods into carryout containers for home delivered meals.
f. Records temperature of foods prior to transportation to congregate dining sites.
2. Participates in maintaining clean surroundings in the kitchen area according to accepted industry sanitation standards.
a. Cleans and washes kitchen equipment and utensils as assigned.
b. Mops floors and disposes of trash on a daily basis.
3. Assures efficient, sanitary and safe operation of the dishwashing area.
a. Completes clean up of the dishwashing area.
b. Reports any malfunctions of equipment as they occur.
c. Keep floors of kitchen swept and mopped.
d. Wash walls as needed and wash doors on a weekly basis.
e. Help in stacking stock as needed.
f. Rinsing and cleaning buckets and mops after using.
4. Assists with maintaining food service paperwork as required.
5. Performs other related duties as required for the effective operation of the food service area and the department.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.; 2 handed carrying of up to 60 lbs. which includes pushing and pulling. Can twist, grasp and grip objects as well as do horizontal and overhead reaching, bending and standing for 8 hours a day. Ability to do repetitive mixing, cutting, stirring, and other related activity associated with food prep. Can operate heavy or mechanized equipment including slicers, mixers, blenders, steam kettles, fryers and chippers.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF: Food service operations, procedures and equipment; food service industry sanitation standards.
ABILITY TO: Perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide; read and follow standardized recipes; prepare various types and quantities of nutritious foods; maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and other agency staff; adapt to various job duties on a day-to-day basis.
SKILL IN: General food service operations.
CONDITIONS: Work on concrete flooring; in extreme cold ≤65° temperatures and in hot temperatures ≥ 80°. Exposed to wet or cold work surfaces, sharp edges on food containers, meat slicers and food processors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a standard high school course of study with at least one (1) year experience in the food service or restaurant industry, or equivalent specialized training in food service.
We are currently seeking experienced MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS for positions in the Dayton Area. We have an ongoing need for people that are passionate about giving back to their community through serving home-bound seniors. This position is accountable for packing, driving, delivering and service monitoring meals delivered to clients. Persons performing this position must be flexible and willing to perform a variety of duties or routes from day-to-day. Must be 25 years old or older to drive for us. The shifts are typically 4-5 hours per day are generally between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm Monday-Friday, NO WEEKENDS. Hourly wage plus mileage reimbursement. Pay is $11.40. MUST HAVE A CAR, Valid car insurance and Driver's License, maintain a good driving record; must possess a reliable vehicle and must pass a criminal background check and maintain a clear record.
REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE OF: Food service operations and procedures; local area streets and highways; food sanitation and safe food handling practices.
ABILITY TO: Communicate with older adults and those with special needs in a patient manner; read and understand street maps; maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients and general public and drives in a pro-active and safe manner.
SKILL IN: Counting, writing, reading and following schedules, directions and maps.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, from floor to waist up to 40 lbs.; take bags down from top racks; 2 handed carrying; pulling and pushing products weighing up to 40 lbs. on a cart. Physical actions include standing, walking, climbing, carrying, handling, stooping, twisting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, reading and driving a vehicle.
