Pet Food Program gets start up funds

Many seniors live alone and depend on the companionship of their pets to relieve feelings of isolation. Many of these seniors share their meals with their pets and neither is getting enough to eat. With the financial help of Meals on Wheels America, we are launching our Senior's Best Friend program to help alleviate the financial burden of feeding a pet. A generous $2,500 grant has allowed us to purchase new containers and shelving to organize and store pet food prior to delivery with enough left over to purchase several pounds of dog and cat food. Going forward, we will rely on donations of pet food from the public. Donations can be dropped off at 105 S. Wilkinson St., Dayton 45402.
